On April 24th, Moynat made its stateside debut at Dover Street Market New York. It’s hard to believe that while Moynat was founded in 1849 (right in time with the onset of railroad travel), this marks the launch of the Parisian house’s first store in the U.S. The must-see shop will be carrying a selection of Moynat’s most classic styles, along with several exclusive pieces made especially for the occasion.
Just another bucket bag? Not so fast. A basic black tote? It’s not that simple! Marni presents a wise variation on the bucket style that we’ve been seeing so much of lately, yet again. But unlike the typical hard-to-access, hand-biting bucket (I’m not big on drawstrings), this one opens up like a friendly tote.
There’s nothing like a good peek-a-boo bag for summer. Suddenly, you’re showing a bit more skin, and it feels right that your bag gets in on the airy, revealing action, too. But like with your sundress and shorts, you don’t want to show too much. The best bags merely hint at being bare, without giving it all away.
Some collaborations are nothing but a natural fit. Smythson’s latest Panama Collection marks the second capsule partnership between the leather company and artist Quentin Jones. Best of all, I love Smythson and their clean, simple shapes readily lend themselves to artistic embellishment.
If you’ve been in search of a different day bag to make you stand out, this wildly printed shopper has it in spades…or should I say paisleys? There’s nothing that explicitly says “Lanvin” about this tote (aside from the discreet label that, you know, says “Lanvin”), none of their ordinary ribbons or brass chain-links.
