One of my best friends just found a cancerous mole on her back. She lives in NYC and works ridiculous hours in an office, and yet still managed to spend enough time unprotected in the sun for this to happen. Luckily, all it took was a short procedure to remove it, but it still cost her $12,000, even with insurance…in case – aside from wrinkles – you needed more motivation to lather on sunscreen every day (even in the winter, it is a MUST!).
The oft-quoted statistic says that 20% of New Yorkers go to bed hungry, and that one in four children in New York goes to bed hungry. Horrifying. A close friend of mine was one of those kids, and to this day she has anxiety about ever returning to the times when creditors were knocking on her parents’ front door and dinner wasn’t guaranteed.
Bathing and eating chocolate both sound pretty fabulously indulgent (and I hate the word fabulous!). As I write this, I’m munching on some brandy-infused chocolates I bought at Demel while in Vienna. You have to pop each chocolate whole into your mouth or risk some liquid dribble. Needless to say, it’s making it a bit easier to deal with my 4 p.m. slump.
Love this line! I discovered Stop the Water While Using Me! while using the restrooms at Scorpios Beach Club in Mykonos a few weeks ago. The packaging is great, the products smell good (unisex), and they’re a good reminder to, well, stop the water while washing your face…
Soreness is good. It means you actually worked hard during your workout and now it’s time for your body to repair itself. I spoke with Eric Orton, the famous run coach in Born to Run, a few weeks ago and he told me something that surprised me, however.
That’s right! Organic Essence’s products all meet organic food standards so if you get the munchies you could literally eat all their products, but you know…I hope it doesn’t come to that for any of us!
