We love when a designer donates a portion of proceeds to charity, but when a campaign like Born Free Africa rounds up 22 major designers to collaborate on a collection that promises to give 100% of its profits, that’s nothing short of a movement.
The lovely prints that have surfaced for the Fall 2014 season are the standouts of New York Fashion Week for me, from the already-dramatic gowns of Monique Lhuillier, Naeem Khan, and Dennis Basso enlivened with inspired prints to the playful dresses by Tracy Reese, Alice + Olivia, and Carolina Herrera.

Carolina Herrera has always been known for her sophisticated look, and while the Spring 2014 collection certainly fulfills that expectation, it takes things a step further thanks to its inspiration – the Kinetic Art movement. The designer’s signature romantic, billowing organza was there, but with a techno edge that shone through in both the accents and the construction.
It happens every year. The temps drop and the hemlines quickly follow. Make covering up exciting with a bold print. Pair your skirt with a crop top until it starts to really get cold, then transition into a fitted button-up. Just avoid baggy tops at all costs.
