As someone who has struggled on and off with acne, I’m always looking for possible culprits and cures. I’ve written about the importance of wearing sunscreen enough that I wear it (pretty much) every day. I spend a good chunk of the year in Israel, though, and there have certainly been times when I haven’t re-applied as much as necessary. I’ve noticed that my skin seems to look better when it’s exposed to the sun, so I wondered if the rays can actually improve acne and if so, whether or not that benefit is influenced by the use of UVA/UVB protection. To find out, I turned to famed NYC dermatologist, host of DermTV.com, and creator of BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz, Dr. Neal Schultz.
LBDs are sleek and sexy, but if you’re wearing them right, they’re just backdrops for accessorizing, canvases to be adorned. In honor of New Year’s Eve, don’t merely pull out your usual jewels and bag; there are ways to completely revamp and up your LBD game, and I’m sharing a few of my favorites here. With any of these embellishments, no one will even be looking at your dress!
New York scenesters Dee and Ricky have collaborated with everyone from Marc Jacobs to Casio on artfully-unique items and while they’ve been widely sold in Japan for years, their pieces haven’t been all that easy to get in the States.
Once I got the FlipBelt, I had no idea how I ever lived without it. There never seem to be pockets in your workout clothes, whether you’re a runner, biker, climber, or avid dog walker. It’s hot, so you’re not going to wear a jacket, and you don’t want to carry a backpack just for keys and a phone. The FlipBelt is the perfect solution (and surprisingly simple – why didn’t I think of this??).
The holiday season is all about decadence – bright lights, rich colors, and of course, lush textures. The best way to celebrate in style is with some soft, chic velvet. The drama ends there, though, because the keys to pulling off the slinky fabric are muted colors, impeccable tailoring, and minimalism (Multiple pieces at once? A definite no!).
You can always count on eveningwear-maven Jenny Packham to go for romance over modernism, yesterday over tomorrow, and her Spring 2014 collection was barely a departure from her gorgeously feminine norm. But while staying true to her distinct aesthetic, she did manage to mix it up!
