Sometimes my relationships with brands are like my most volatile relationships in life. What I love most about Maison Martin Margiela is one minute I’m hating on them, and the next I’m back in love.
Brian Atwood is the hottest man alive. Sorry, Tom Ford, but this is true. Not only is he hot, he listens to women. He heard cries from around the world about how uncomfortable his gorgeous shoes are so what did he do? He made the world’s best pumps to live in. We all need a pointy pump staple this season, and this pair is mine.
Julie Bowen really wowed with this sweeping Zac Pozen. The over-the-top look is not what we expect from her which makes it that much more exciting. Plus she looked like she was having fun with it which always makes it look more grand.
I may have survived fashion week, but my feet didn’t. I do like to complain about shoe discomfort. Like my husband has said again and again, “You are at the comfort stage of life.” Fine, I accept that. At least I know that about myself and can plan out my life accordingly, but Fashion Week is the exception. The heels had to come out, and I had to prepare to be in them for 14 hours a day.
With a New York City upbringing and a first bag style called the Trigger, you can count on Monika Botkier to pump some streetwise grit into your functional daily bag. I love Monika for her rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic and refined biker sensibility, and this bag has both in spades.
Gucci’s fall shoes are gorgeous, so much so that this could be one-stop shopping for the season’s essentials. They’re very well made, and while not Frugal Snob friendly, the shoes are priced better than those from other established brands (except for the python booties – they also come in leathericon for only $895, though!).
