I am tea obsessed. The fastest way for me to lose respect for a restaurant that considers itself top tier is if they give me a Twinings tea or something similar (in Tokyo I had the pleasure of dining at a steakhouse where said Twinings cost $14!). I approach tea the same way a sommelier approaches wine and I’ve developed a pretty discerning palette over the years.
Traditional iced coffee is made by pouring hot brewed coffee over ice. Cold brew (also known as “cold press” or “toddy coffee”), is brewed without heat over a long duration; it produces smoother, less acidic coffee making it ideal for those suffering from acid reflux or sensitive stomachs – or those who simply prefer something that tastes better!
One of my best friends was dangerously overweight for a very, very long time. I’m not talking about the messed up ideals of “fashion overweight.” I mean he needed to loose 100-plus pounds or he would very likely die a premature death.
I’m completely matcha obsessed. It was such a dream to be able to have it all day, everyday and with everything when I was in Japan. Aside from having the tea in restaurants and tea shops I had matcha Oreos, matcha chocolate, matcha ice cream, matcha pastries, literally matcha EVERYTHING!
Danish designer, artist, and architect Verner Panton blurs the lines between art and furniture with his Living Tower. This is modern design at its best (or rather, mid-century modern design at its best, as this was dreamt up back in 1968). It’s like an indoor tree house, only much more chic and comfortable. The upholstery coats soft foam, so this isn’t some inaccessible piece of art – it truly is furniture.
