Now this is a good reason to pick up a LV bag or two! Louis Vuitton North America, Inc. announced today, in honor of Earth Day, that 15% of all sales purchased on the company’s U.S. site, LouisVuitton.com on April 22nd, 2009 will be donated to The Climate Project. Louis Vuitton is actively committed to promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable development, and has partnered with The Climate Project since 2007.
I love the Alma MM from Stephen Sprouse collection. The vert tonic color really sets off the funky roses and how appropriate to buy green in honor or the earth 🙂 $2,610 At Louis Vuitton.com but don’t buy it until Wednesday, April 22nd!
Louis Vuitton initiated an association with The Climate Project in 2007 by making a donation to the organization on behalf of the individuals in the Core Values Advertising Campaign. Louis Vuitton has continued the relationship throughout its Core Values campaigns, donating on behalf of Catherine Deneuve, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, Keith Richards, Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola, and Sean Connery.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with The Climate Project and promote environmental awareness in honor of Earth Day,” said Daniel Lalonde, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton North America. “Over the past few years Louis Vuitton has voluntarily made efforts to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. In addition we are proud to be able to support The Climate Project in its inspiring quest to raise awareness of the climate crisis.”
The Climate Project, founded by Nobel Laureate and former Vice President Al Gore, is an international non-profit organization with a mission of increasing public awareness of the climate crisis at a grassroots level worldwide. TCP is growing exponentially, with headquarters in Nashville, TN and branch offices in Spain, U.K., Australia, India, and Canada. More than 500 U.S. and Canadian TCP Presenters will be gathering in Nashville next month for TCP’s North American Summit with Gore and other climate change dignitaries.
“We are delighted to continue this wonderful relationship with Louis Vuitton in our joint efforts against global warming. Louis Vuitton has always been on the cutting edge of fashion and now the company has again proven it leadership to set new standards and trends for sustainable practices and programs in the luxury industry. We appreciate its support in giving consumers the opportunity to donate to TCP with their on-line purchases on Earth Day,” said Jenny Clad, Executive Director of The Climate Project.

About The Climate Project
The Climate Project (TCP) is an international non-profit organization founded by Nobel Laureate and former Vice President Al Gore. With its global headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, TCP’s mission is to increase public awareness of the climate crisis in the United States and abroad. TCP consists of a professional staff and more than 2600 volunteers worldwide who have personally been trained by Gore to present a version of the slide show featured in the Academy Award-winning film An Inconvenient Truth. In February 2009, TCP expanded its mission with a new commitment to advocacy and activism to combat climate crisis.
How about buying a much better looking, original and reasonably priced bag for $1000-1500 and donating the difference to The Climate Project, rather than spending a ridiculous $2610 on yet another tired LV? Better for planet earth, and better for you!
I think LV always has a place, but I kinda agree with the above…buy something with more longevity and donate to charity of choice for Earth Day. 🙂
I am sure it’s all with the best intentions, but…no, I am sorry, this bag doesn’t appeal to me at all – neither the colour nor the shape. And at that price, no thank you!
I love the Vernis roses and have been trying to decide which piece to get. I think if you’re a fan of lv bags and plan to buy something anyway, why not buy it on earth day.
the pink alma vernis roses or the orange one is truly incredible. the green one not so much. these bags are limited so better order up before they disappear on earth day. i’ve recently made an LV purchase so i won’t be participating. why can’t they stretch the promo to a whole week, not just one day.
I agree with you about the pink and orange but I also think the vert tonic shows off the roses better. It’s a gorgeous color in person.
