The Alexander McQueen Novak (inspired by actress Kim Novak), has been around for a few years now and comes in an endless array of colors and slight variations. I’ve never been much of a fan of the bag, but I’m liking the style that Jessica Simpson has been totting around. I think the shape of the Calf Petal Flapper Novak is nicely complemented by the gold hardware and I like the shade of brown. Of course what truly makes the bag are the petals which unlike so many others aren’t obnoxiously hippy-esque. Even though between the studs, the buckle, and the petals there’s a lot going on I think the bag works because everything was kept in gold and brown. It’s also nice and roomy so I’m not surprised that Jessica Simpson is using it to travel! What do you think — snob or slob? Alexander McQueen bags are available at Net-a-Porter.com.

I actually like the bag. It’s a very beautiful design. It’s a bit too large, but still beautiful. I’d definitely give it a snob. It’s Alexander McQueen for goddness sake!

The fact that it appeals to Jessica Simpson is enough to make me barff. I don’t mean to be judgemental, but Jessica Simpson is not my idea of fashion savvy, and I don’t think she is the typical McQueen demographic…….sorry 🙁

It would be easier to decide if she didn’t carry it with any old outfit she throws on. In the first photo, with the orange graphic print, it looks way Snob to me…with the others, so mismatched that I just can’t sign off on this.
I agree that it is a bit too large, but she is using it while traveling which I think works. I like it! And I’m not a fan of the other Novak purses. I would only have a purse like this if it was considerably smaller. I’ve read the medium sized novak bag is 13.5 inches at the bases, and personally that seems more appropriate.
I agree with Sharon, the petals make this bag. There are some adorable bastard child of hippie and western that seem like an unlikely combination, but it works so well. Snob!
