Get the Look: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Cheeks

Rosie+Huntington+Whiteley+Hummingbird+Premieres+co7kdbiHZc9lOne of the trickiest things when it comes to makeup is getting your blush just right. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley knocked it out of the park in the picture above with her on point use of blush. The go-to test for finding the shade that’s right for you is to lightly pinch your cheeks and match the blush to that color (unless you have rosacea or acne in which case you’ll want to opt for something tawnier to avoid drawing attention to the redness). You’ll also want to match textures – so if you’re using a powder foundation, use powder blush; if you’re using liquid/cream foundation, use cream blush – to avoid a clumpy texture mess on your face! Angled blush or fan brushes tend to work the best for seamless blending. I find that powder blushes are the quickest to apply, but I tend to get the most natural/dewy looking finish when I use cream blushes.

Lastly, don’t forget to consider how much makeup you’ve got on. The same blush will look a lot darker when applied on clean skin than it will when applied over a few layers of makeup!
