Gelife Soak-Off UV Gel

UVGelLife.JPG I can barely remember a time when I wasn’t sporting color polish on my nails — which is why I’m such a strong advocate of both top and base coats and good cuticle care (love Sephora Brand Cuticle Care Pen and L’Occitane’s Cuticle Cream for relieving dry cuticles and maintaining nail health). For the most part I stick to color (currently completely obsessed with essie’s Punchy Pink), but I’m intrigued by Gelife. The new technology in manicure and pedicure services is available exclusively at Dashing Diva salons. It’s a new procedure where two coats of a soft, removable gel are applied just like nail polish (either clear, cool pink, or warm pink), then cured under a UV light after each application. The gel immediately sets in the UV light, leaving a manicure or pedicure that lasts for up to two weeks and requires no drying time. The coats help protect the nail underneath and the finished results have higher than usual shine. UV Gelife French for French manicures is also available — after the Gelife has been applied to natural nails, the thin, white French Wrap is applied at the tip. The French Wraps are sealed with additional Gelife and then cured with the UV light (Gelife is removed by soaking nails in pure acetone). Jump for step-by-step photos and pricing!

  1. i don’t think this is exclusive to the spa because mine has something that sounds exactly the same to it. and my manicurist said the only way to get it off was to file it down and acetone wouldn’t even take it off. my problem with it was that if you had nail polish underneath it would stay on but you would see cracks in the color where it wanted to chip off

  2. my nail places does “bio-sculpture gel” nails. it sounds the same. we call it the “no chip manicure” in chicago. it is good because it doesn’t chip, however there’s a commitment to keeping it up… say for instance u do a dark lincoln park after dark type color. the next time u go in for fills they buff off the old color and put on the same color or DARKER. u can’t decide to do a pale pink unless u remove it completely. and say u don’t want to do it anymore, u have to go into a salon and have them remove it for u. it ended up being $50 every two weeks. that’s too expensive for my liking.

i’ve never had gels or acrylics done but it’s basically the same without the harsh chemicals and buffing. they do lightly buff ur nails but not nearly the way they do for acrylics.

in the end i’m too commitment phobic for this kinda treatement. the only time i’d consider doing it again is for a wedding or vacation or something. it definitely does not chip, but can “lift off” in whole sheets. i enjoyed it while i had it but my pocketbook didn’t.

  4. Hi

I have used Gelife & it really does soak off in 10 minutes with acetone!

You just remove the shine lightly with a file & then apply a cotton wool ball with acetone onto each nail & wrap with foil (shiney side in) & leave for 10 minutes then apply pressure as you pull the foil off & it is all removed wipe over each nail with acetone & it’s all off.

It really is that easy! I am so impressed with it & so are my clients as it look’s lovely!

    Hope that helps

  5. Hello, I am interested in the virtual french and gellife system. I am a nail tech and want to offer these services to my clients. How can I purcasethem and can they be used in my salon that’s not Dashing Diva franchise? The products look great!! And one more thing do you have a professional catalog that can be mailed to professionals by mail. If so that would be gret also. Thanks for your time.
