Old-school and old-fashioned. That was my first instinct when I spotted Stella McCartney’s spring collection bags. Offered in both clutch and satchel-inspired bag shapes, the interlocking wicker weave is very granny pants, dontcha think? Stella was clearly going for a vintage look and feel with these bags, but I couldn’t help but recall those wicker chairs my grandmother used to have out in the back patio that left marks on the back of your legs if you sat on them for too long. These are bags that’ll remain in your collection for decades to come–because they already look like they’ve been in your bag closet for decades! But I do appreciate their simple, refined silhouettes that are elegant and will certainly lend a dose of maturity to any young girl’s outfit. I just don’t know if after spending a hefty amount for a brand new bag if you’ll want those around you to think you got it for $15 at a flea market.
Completely agree….Not MY personal style!
I like stuff like this–at a vintage shop or a flea market. I can’t see paying Stella’s prices for these bags.
