To celebrate their Fall 2011 collection and the launch of their new e-commerce site Elie Tahari enlisted Joe Zee (who styled the brand’s Spring 2012 show), to host an event along with Elie Tahari himself in the brand’s Soho store. It was a super fun evening of shopping, mini bites, and cocktails! I mean really any night that starts with shopping can’t be anything but fun and Tahari is the most adorable designer! He was super sweet and going around helping style all the bloggers and online editors in the Fall collection. My boyfriend and I had dinner plans so he tagged along with me and it turned out to be for the better. To avoid him getting bored (catering took over the men’s floor), I asked him for input and he suggested these
Hailey Metallic Pants ($298), which I wouldn’t have tried on otherwise. They look great on and I’m lacking in the fitted pant department (I always gravitate towards loose and over-sized silhouettes). I paired it with the Laurine Cable Knit Sweater ($278) because we were asked to style a look and funny enough the two pieces are styled together on Shopbop the same way I wore them at the event! Obviously a sign that I need to go back and get the sweater so I can pair it with the pants, which I’ve already planned to wear to Rosh Hashanah dinner tonight:)
You can shop the new collection now on Elie Tahari‘s site, which also has new editorial content (on their webazine, ETC), and as part of an upcoming pre-fall 2012 initiative customers will be able to design their own custom handbag by choosing the fabrication, interior pocket design, color, etc, and, for the following Fall 2012 season, we’ll be able to order pieces straight from the runway – so wish this started for the Spring 2012 season because I’m dying for this vest!
