I’m obsessed!! My mother and I went to an MCM event at Saks during Fashion Week and I came across these hats in the DVF section (they were the highlight of DVF’s F/W 2009 collection!). Of course I wanted to buy the black one immediately ($150), but my mother looked at me like I was crazy (this is why its best to go shopping alone sometimes!). The red one ($200) is a bit too clownish for me and my head is too small to pull it off, but the black one is just right and I’m already planning on heading back to Saks this weekend to pick it up.
Are you loving these DVF hats as much as I am?
i saw these on the Rachel Zoe Project. And i think they look ridiculous!!but..i like the idea of doing this instead of fur.Kinda cool.
I also saw these on the Rachel Zoe Project and thought that DVF lost her mind. Sharon, if you dare to wear any of these pom pom hats, people will scream out obscenities at you. Unless you are the Cat in the Hat, or the Grinch, stay away from these hats…
Kay — You are hilarious! I’m laughing my butt off! They are a little Cat in the Hat..I need to catch that Rachel Zoe episode..must have aired while I was out of the country
Sharon,
Last year I bought a crazy sort of beret at Barneys. I thought it was so cool in the store. Every time I went to actually wear it, I stopped myself. The phrase “mutton, dressed like a lamb” kept popping up like cartoon wording in my mind. Put the hat down, and slowly walk away!
These are very cute but pom-poms are unbelievably easy to make. Just buy a cute tam (even a nice angora-y one)and add pom-poms you’ve made out of a variety of co_ordinating yarns. I used to make pom-poms like these to put on the front of my skates when I was 10 years old. Think I’ll go looking for a knitted tam…
