I’m sorry to say it, but sensible shoes are in for spring. Stella McCartney continued that notion with her spring show, sending her models out in shoes with dark brown ankle straps, gold bridle detailing and low to medium rise block heels covered in either natural cork, raffia or wicker. As a whole they reinforced her emphasis on daywear, but I don’t think women will relegate these shoes to just 9am to 5pm. I think there’ll be a legion of ladies proudly sporting these slight heels to evening functions, with ball gowns and for nights out at the theatre. Yes, they’re not sexy by any means, but ask yourself: what would your bunion say?
Ugh. I’m sorry, but I work on my feet all day, and I wouldn’t dream of working in these shoes. Not only are they unattractive and “grandmotherly,” (and I am a grandmother) they aren’t exactly flattering to the leg and the female figure in general. I have no problem standing for 8 hours or more in a pair of 5″ Christian Louboutin’s, but give me a pair of these and I *will* hurt the next day. I can’t decide which Spring shoe collection is worse, this or *shockingly* Michael Kors’. When did “sensible” shoes become so un-sexy? This is one trend I will have to ignore and continue on my merry way with sky-high, sexy shoes.
These shoes haven’t anything new…there isn’t creativity I’m boring from Stella!!!
