I’m a huge Giles and Brother fan, and they continue to keep me in love with new and exciting pieces. It’s the even-keeled mix of hard and soft, as well as the creative use of contrasting materials (leather and gold-finished brass) and the flair for the unexpected (African rings used as necklace pendants) that holds my attention. Left to a lesser designer, these concepts materialized could come out like an arts and crafts project. Left to the Crangi siblings, you get urban, innovative, and, most importantly, wearable jewelry.
This necklace is a perfect example. I love the “twist” on the traditional gold chain – how often do you see hexagons? And the braided cotton cord, waxed to a leathery finish and in an unexpected dark blue, peeks out with a tassel so it can rest coyly on your neck – amazing. At Bergdorf Goodman for $325.
Pair with: Gianvito Rossi’s peep-toe tobacco ankle boots add delicacy, working with the necklace’s chunk, while the gold buckle and row of super-wide leather laces maintain the gold hexagon chain’s spirit. At Browns Fashion for $874.
Love it. Kind of reminds me of vertebrae which make me like it even more.
love this necklace! Gorgeous!
