The Cozy Coupe is every tot’s first car (I’m a bit too old, when it was introduced in 1979 I was already out of the height/weight restriction) and now it is celebrating its 30th Anniversary. It was inducted into the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in Cleveland last week and is the best selling car in America, 457,000 units were sold in 2008 — more than any other car. Over 10 million of these have been sold since its premiere! And you thought the car industry was in trouble! It helps that it is eco-friendly (Flintstone foot powered) and less than $50. There have not been many updates in its 30 years but this year it was given a major face lift, big eyes and a smile were added to give it a personality. Uh oh, do I smell a TV series in the works?
