Age Appropriate Dress

ABC News felt it necessary to do a story about dressing your daughter appropriately, all fine and good right? Well, the actual story was about how NOT to dress them like skanks, specifically about a book entitled “Stop Dressing Your Six-Year-Old Like a Skank: A Slightly Tarnished Southern Belle’s Words of Wisdom“. Uh, I’m sorry to be so judgmental but anyone who needs to read this book should not be having children. You really need to watch this because it is as entertaining as it is disturbing. Here is the clip on the segment. I am scared and saddened that a story like this is being dignified on network news. I thought, “surely this must be a joke”. Am I missing something here? These 6 year olds, do they have their own credit cards and income? Because if not, someone is buying these skanky clothes for them and that someone ought to be ashamed. If it was up to normal moms, all our little girls would be wearing Ralph Lauren dresses! But that’s just my opinion, a mom of 2 girls.
