Paris Fashion Week Fall 2016 Beauty Trends

There’s a reason Paris Fashion Week is last…there’s just nothing like Paris! Even as a born-and-raised die-hard Manhattanite I can recognize this. With that, we saved the best for last; here’s a look at all the trends and looks you need to know about from the Fall 2016 Paris runways.

Cat eyes were a huge trend – as they often are – but we saw bold variations this season. The most notable was the crystal-embellished look at Anthony Vaccarello. Stones were cut out of fake diamond earrings and glued to the outside corner of the models’ eyes. While this look as is was clearly for runway effect, the thick liner is something that can easily be transitioned into an evening look for us as long as the rest of the face is kept bare.

If only helmet hair always looked this good! Texture was a big trend on the runway, and the effortless appeal of multi-texture is highly covetable as we approach summer…even if for most of us this look will come with considerably more frizz than was seen on the Chloé runway.

Nothing says Paris like easy, natural makeup and hair, so it’s little surprise that it popped up on a number of runways; surprisingly, however, that included Balmain. The key to this look is an impeccably-groomed brow. Go see Sania in NYC! In fact, Sania recently expanded her business and now has her niece and two daughters – who have been training under her for years – also working at her namesake brow mecca.

The trend of ponytails and braids we saw in New York continued in Paris, namely at Haider Ackermann. While the tentacle look doesn’t exactly translate well into everyday life, wrapping hair tightly along part of the length of a ponytail (it was wrapped the entire length for the show) is a fun idea – and a great way to cover-up hair that needs to be washed when you’re crunched for time…here’s to a more unique alternative to dry shampoo!

Just like the cat eye, we’re always bound to see a smokey eye trend on the runways, but this season we had some innovative iterations. Elie Saab models had a heavy rocker look with black shadow applied in an almond shape under a layer of gray shimmer.
