If there’s one look that never gets old, it’s the healthy glow. Of course it’s best if that comes naturally, but it’s approaching the dead of winter and most of us are already pale as ghosts (I’ve been spending a great deal of time in Tel Aviv and without makeup, still look like a dead woman walking!). I swear by Clé de Peau Beauté Luminizing Face Enhancer
If you’re going for a more bronzed look, she suggests applying bronzer on the high points of the face where the sun naturally hits for a subtle glow. “Using a soft bronze eye shadow, apply to the lid in a sheer wash of color, followed by mascara. A soft pink or bronze lip should complete the look and make sure to skip blush,” she says.
For something more ethereal, start by applying an illuminating primer all over before foundation (again, I swear by Tom Ford’s, but Bruzzesi highlights NARS Pore Refining Primer if you have oily skin and HOURGLASS Primer Serum if you need extra hydration). “Depending on eye color, use a neutral eye palette to define the eyes, followed by a couple coats of mascara. Cheeks and lips should be in soft pink tones to give an innocent, fresh glow. Use a face highlighter to define features and give skin a sort of wet finish.”
So that’s phase one…phase two is planning a trip somewhere warm. Who’s with me?
