If you’re on a budget you might want to consider replacing some of your beauty products with natural oils; they’re quick and cost-effective. Plus, they smell great and usually work double-duty via a calming aromatherapy effect!
Here’s a quick guide:
Dry scalp? Apply a few drops of avocado oil to help restore moisture
Chapped lips? Add a few drops of argan oil to brown sugar for an exfoliating lip scrub
Split ends? Try a few drops of macadamia or argan oil in your hair
Dry skin? Add 1 tbsp of coconut oil to your bath water
Dry cuticles? Rub a few drops of argan oil on your nail beds
If you’re up for taking it one step further, here are three recipes you can whip up in a few seconds!
Peppermint Foot Scrub:
1 cup raw sugar
½ cup coconut oil
8 drops peppermint essential oil
Use a loofah for extra exfoliation. Try applying it in the shower to easily wash off the scrub.
Avocado & Argan Oil Hair Mask:
½ of a mashed avocado
1 tbsp olive oil
2-3 pumps Moroccan argan oil
Mix the ingredients together. Heat in the microwave for 10 seconds. Let the mixture cool then apply it to clean, wet hair. Tie hair up and let it sit for 30 minutes, then wash out. Make sure to mash the avocado to a fine texture with a fork before mixing in the oils. When applying the mask, begin at the front of the head near the roots, and work your way back through the rest of the hair.
Lavender Body Scrub:
1 cup raw sugar
½ cup coconut oil
8 drops of lavender essential oil
Use sugar as the base then add in oils. Mix the ingredients together and apply. Use the loofah for extra exfoliation. Try applying it in the shower to easily wash off the scrub.
