Just when you think, I’m gonna poke my eyes out if I hear about one more juice cleanse, along comes Clean Drinking, a new start-up that makes cold-pressed juices each of which are meant to be used as cocktail mixers. “Vodka Cleanse,” “Tequila Cleanse” and more are in the mix, and the juices not only taste delicious, they’re just about the best hostess gifts you can bring a friend this summer (in fact, a hostess gift is exactly how I found out about the brand to begin with).
The juices taste great on their own, but if you so choose to do so (And hey, it’s summer! Why not?), you can mix them with ice and the liquor of your choosing (see bottles for suggested pairings…). The mixers have less than 40 calories per serving. The brand also makes what they call “all day” juices including the MorningAfter Party, a breakfast alternative for the morning after a night of…say a bit too much drinking…CucumberBasil Smash, a basil-infused green juice, and PineappleLove Kids, a gingery drink they say is meant for kids; though it’s certainly healthier than your run-of-the-mill apple juice with tons of added sugar, how many kids will actually drink ginger?!
All the juices are naturally sweetened and hey, if you’re gonna be boozing anyway, might as well get your fruit and veggie fix while you’re at it!
