Zimt Cookie Dough Cups

Cookie-Dough-Cups-All

I’ve been spending a lot of time in Tel Aviv…I just couldn’t handle the horrible NYC winter so I decided to pack up and relocate till the sun decided to show its face in Manhattan! Tel Aviv is great. Such a cosmopolitan city with so much to offer – including great food. While there’s a surprising amount of American foods available including donuts, bagels, pizza, Oreos, and pretty much every packaged food (I recently even saw fried PB&J dipped in Bourbon at a restaurant…), there are a few things I really do miss – especially because even when I indulge in sweets I try to be healthy. One of of those things is cookie dough. They don’t sell those delicious rolls of cookie dough nor have I seen cookie dough ice cream so one of the first things I did when I got back to NYC was fall face first into Zimt Cookie Dough Cups. This isn’t your average Nestle or Pillsbury cookie dough. The ingredients are pure and many are raw, organic, vegan, and fairly traded (so you won’t feel bloated and pregnant after eating these). Plus the dough, available in three flavors, is not made with eggs. In fact it’s not only totally safe to eat raw, it’s designed to be eaten raw (if you’re interested in baking it read this)!

The cookie dough is by far my favorite thing from Zimt, but the raw artisanal chocolate brand also makes other great products. They’ve got all the good stuff you hear about when people talk about the benefits of cacao because, unlike regular chocolate, the cacao beans they’re made with are not roasted, nor do they reach temperatures above about 49 °C (meaning they preserve their nutrients). All the chocolate and chocolate products (macaroons, truffles, etc.) are made without dairy, with fair trade ingredients, are diabetic-friendly, and can be packaged in special boxes if you’re looking for party or wedding favors. Your mouth watering yet?
