Frugal Snob Friday: The Seaweed Bath Co.’s New Launches

Frugal Snob Friday

The Seaweed Bath Co., a brand started by a psoriasis sufferer, just expanded massively. I wrote about them over four years ago when they were just getting started. You can now find the homegrown company at places like Whole Foods (plus about 1,400 natural products stores across the country like Sprouts and Natural Grocers), and they have a bunch of new products. How great in this day and age of cosmetic giants ruling beauty aisles to see a small brand started by a single entrepreneur and his wife find success (next stop Shark Tank? Just saying…). All of the brand’s products are seaweed-based and designed to hydrate dry, sensitive skin (again, the brand was started based on the needs of someone with psoriasis who couldn’t find anything that was natural and soothing for his sensitive skin). The entire line uses sustainably hand-harvested, organic bladderwrack seaweed from Maine and all the products are gluten-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, dye-free and not tested on animals…not that I’d recommend it, but I’m pretty sure nothing would happen if you accidentally ate one of their vitamin and essential fatty acid-rich products! They’ve also been repackaged in bottles made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. These products just scream sea and sun! If you’re lucky enough to have a summer home or live by the beach, these are dreamy and very affordable additions, and their new products include options like Detox Cellulite Soap (made with organic arabica coffee and cinnamon) and a Detox Cellulite Cream formulated with hyaluronic acid and green coffee bean extract. Better yet most products are priced under $15.
