J. Mendel Fall 2015 Bags: Make a Night of It

It’s hard not to like J. Mendel bags. With an aesthetic that tends to lean towards the simple and sophisticated, and an undeniable taste for all things luxe (hello, they’re a famed fur house!), their bags may not induce shock and awe, but they do incite an urge to get dressed up, in an elegant sort of way. And they’ve taken things up a few notches for Fall ’15.

The revolving-handle hardware is genius, and the hard, brushed metal looks so chic set against plush black-and-white mink, as seen on the Noir Shadow Minuit minaudière. The Melodie clutch is pared down as ever in matte-satin, while in gold-metallic Baroque embroidered lace, it feels overtly seductive for evening. The Baroque-inspired theme carries through to the embossed leather midi-clutch, featuring a low, front handle that makes for an invited twist, while J. Mendel’s interpretation of metallic gold leather is as gleaming and liquid-like as I’ve ever seen. Fit for date nights and galas alike, if their goal was to inspire the urge for an evening on the town, then mission accomplished.
