NYFW Beauty Recap #2

It’s so cold that the air actually hurts your skin when you’re walking around NYC, but fashion must go on! Here’s a look at the latest must-see beauty looks.

Wes Gordon: If you’re looking to go from the gym to work, this is the ultimate The undone low bun, pictured above left, is chic but practical since it keeps hair tightly out of the face.

Tadashi Shoji: At first glance you might think overkill, but glitter can not only be tasteful, it can look fantastic if paired with an understated outfit and a clean face. I was very inspired by this look! Now I just need a tan so I can actually have the confidence to pull it off…

Coach: In and of itself, the hair at Coach, above left, was nothing to write home about, but I love how they styled it under the models’ clothes. It was not only unique but practical if you find yourself in the kind of weather we’re having right now in NYC. I tried it out, and it’s crazy how much of a difference it makes when you tuck hair under your scarf versus letting it hang over…pleasant surprise!

Jason Wu: As far as developing trends go, so far things aren’t particularly riveting. Most designers have opted for the bare makeup look, and hair parts are split between center and side (Jason Wu, above right, mixed the two). Jason, however, also managed to keep his look simple without seeming boring, namely by using a lot of mascara. Mascara is such an easy and often overlooked way to quickly create definition in the eyes – even without liner or shadow.
