Lately, I’ve kind of made a return to more neutral bags, but sometimes you want some boldness to complement the neutrality. This Jil Sander tote allows for both in equal measures, which I really appreciate. A slim tote (this one is narrow at the bottom, yet it offers enough volume throughout so you can actually carry stuff) with a stamped snake print in black and white is handy and versatile.
Then add the twist of completely contrasting tones on the front and back, and you suddenly get so much more than pure function. Are you feeling dark or light today? You can choose your mood. Either way, it goes with every color in your closet. My only complaint is the length of the handles. Short handles are nice and neat-looking, but I still wish they were slightly longer to allow for over-the-shoulder wear. Even so, this is a bag that will get plenty of mileage.
