Lips & Boys: Tom Ford Launches 50 Limited Edition Mini Lipsticks
Sharon Feiereisen
I love clutch-size anything given the always-overstuffed status of my bags, but don’t love toting around sample size products. Leave it Tom Ford to design something miniature and totally luxe that doesn’t look flimsily sample size. Initially released on Black Friday on TomFord.com for four days and at other online retailers for Cyber Monday only, Ford’s limited edition collection of 50 lipsticks completely sold out. Now it’s back for a very limited run online and at brick-and-mortar stores starting on December 26. There are 10 shade ranges in the line-up, called Lips & Boys, so pretty much everything from a balm-like sheer shade to a classic red to a silvery metallic is covered and while some shades are popular pre-existing ones now being sold in mini versions, there are a whopping 36 brand new shades in the mix. Each hue retails for $32 and is scented with Ford’s signature vanilla. Lipstick usually “tastes” disgusting, which is why I rarely wear any; this one you could almost eat, it tastes, smells, and feels so great. As the name suggests, each shade is named after an important figure in Ford’s life, and he personally titled each of the lipsticks. Casey sure is a chic alternative to my go-to Blistex!
