I love Giuseppe Zanotti. I really do. His shoes are exquisite and fabulous, and I can only wish I had the stamina to wear his stilettos daily. So as much as it pains me to do so, I’ve got to call it like I see it. When I see a bag that’s more of a tribute to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” video than anything anyone should carry on their arm, I have to say: it’s downright awful.
Plenty of red bags work, but this big hunk of cherry leather looks vulgar and garish. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s got something to do with the awkwardly large size (a bag in this hobo-inspired shape shouldn’t be so big), not to mention the puzzlingly gratuitous amount of chunky zippers. I can only see my skin getting pinched and gnawed up – not that you would catch me carrying this. Add to the mix a panel of quilted texture, and you’ve got a combination in which all the elements add up to the perfect storm of bad…and not “bad” in the M.J. kind of way. Giuseppe Zanotti bag on Luisa via Roma for $2,350.
Sorry Kelly I think it’s an edgy bag. It’s more in line with Jimmy Choo aesthetics. I love Zanotti but for his jewel flats. They are the only flats I have found that can grab attention as well as any stiletto.
