Designer Diana Broussard started off in jewels, and as you might have guessed, she’s known for her exaggerated chains and padlock-topped necklaces. She spoke to us about this particular new bag style, along with the other verticals she is set to launch soon (including a perfume and soaps). Indeed, the chunky, oversized resin chain is Diana’s signature, and combined with the stark white on white leather, I’m in awe.
There’s something that feels almost surreal about wearing a bag completely lacking in hue. It’s decadent and unexpected, as if you’re announcing you refuse to pay the dirt and grime of the world any mind. As for the matte saffiano leather, it’s eco-treated, which means it’s hypoallergenic and totally scent-free. While it’s called a messenger and the rectangular shape matches, it’s pretty atypical. This is a large bag, and the short, milk-white chain means you tote it as a shoulder bag. Diana says she designs for the individual urban Snob, and that’s right: there’s nothing mass about this clean, cool bag. On Paire for $1,150.
Pair with: Keep it clean with Laurence Dacade’s western-inspired Babacar Frangie booties, a cool blend of pale neutral suede and just enough fringe. On NET-A-PORTER for $875.
