Ladies! Get yourself to your nearest Tom Ford counter next time you’re out shopping! The brand just launched a number of new products and they really work best when a professional guides you through using them. Just seeing them online it can be hard to tell which shades work best for your complexion and how you should best use the various contouring and correcting products yourself, but trust that they are well worth checking out. Inspired by his best selling Shade & Illuminate ($77), the designer launched a limited edition Contouring Cheek Duo ($77). It’s available in two shades and they both look intimating and dark but when worked into your cheek they blend into the skin perfectly (I am pale, pale…). If you’re looking for a more dramatic look than you’ll get with Ford’s traditional blushes this is it (though the drama of the contouring effect is mitigated by the fact that the duo has less shimmer than Ford’s traditional blushes).
Ford also released new foundations ($80) for those looking for more of a matte versus dewy texture and a concealer pen ($52), available in three shades, that I’m obsessed with. It applies so smoothly via a unique synthetic sponge and there is no product build up – perfect for pre-foundation application. Lastly his new fragrance, Velvet Orchid Eau de Parfum Spray ($112-$159) isn’t marketed towards men but I was told at the counter that a number of men have been buying it and it doesn’t surprise me. It’s a rich scent, but not as strong as many of Ford’s others (though it’s still an EDP not EDT so you will def get a long-lasting scent), resulting in a scent that works equally well for both genders – despite having jasmine and other notes you’d otherwise associate with feminine scents – it’s a rich, sexy, perfect for cooler weather scent!
