Tod’s got a great new outlook, and a great new bag out to prove it. It’s pieces like this that make me think Alessandra Facchinetti’s transition into the house (after succeeding Derek Lam in February 2013) is complete. Like she has settled in and figured out what the longstanding Italian brand is really about.
The sense of ease and wearability of this shoulder bag remain true to the classic Tod’s spirit, while a military-inspired vibe turns up the heat. On the small side and sturdily compact, this offers more structure than we’ve gotten used to seeing from them. A sense of sizzle also arrives by way of the super-strong color; I love this shade of rich red for fall.
This bag also appeals to my current sensibility. These days, the tiny shoulder style seems to be a favorite of mine. The outer pocket adds ease and storage, allowing the main compartment to accommodate more. On My Theresa for $1,248.
Pair with: Take this out at night by zipping your feet into a sexy pair of sandals by Alexandre Birman. Wavy lines and skinny straps in navy suede and python make a great late-summer treat. At Bergdorf Goodman for $875.
Such a gorgeous bag! Timeless and just scrumptious to hold! x
