Cold brew is one of the buzz word of summer beverages, but we always hear it associated with coffee. Now Suja has launched the first cold-brewed organic tea line available exclusively at Whole Foods (each tea is $3.99). What’s so great about this line is that aside from the quality of ingredients and more complex process used to make them, they come in a range of sweetness from no sugar to pretty high in sugar as some of them are blended with juices (they’re known as being a leader in the cold pressured juice space). No matter which one you pick – I’d suggest unsweetened of course! – there are no added “natural” flavors, colors, or preservatives. They also donate $.20 from the sale of each bottle to a worthy cause (the teas are part of the brand’s The Elements Cause Collective’ product line, where each product benefits one of six non-profits focused on health & nutrition, sustainability, conservation and human rights), and all teas are non-GMO and organic.
The four flavors are: Honeybush Peach (honeybush, tulsi teas, peach juice, and honey), Chunmee Tropical (chunmee green tea, pineapple, mango, lime, and coconut palm sugar), Jasmine Pomegranate (jasmine tea, lemon, pomegranate, tamarind, and honey), and Unsweetened Biodynamic Black (nilgiri, darjeeling, and assam teas – this is the first certified biodynamic tea to launch, which is considered the next step to organic and the best form of sustainable agriculture).
