I love the Avene line more with each product I try. I was sent a variety of sunscreens for summer, and my favorite by far has been the High Protection Tinted Compact SPF 50. It’s so good that I’ve put everything else away for now. Why apply sunscreen, moisturizer, then foundation when you can get it all in one fell swoop? And tinted compacts are surprisingly effective at protecting even the most sensitive skin.
This one is full of nutrient-rich ingredients like Avene thermal spring water and vitamin E to keep you hydrated and smooth. It blends well to create an even complexion (since the cream is thick, it does require some work blending, but the protection is worth the effort), and with the full coverage, your skin looks flawless. Somehow it also manages not to smear on clothes the way other tinted sunscreens tend to (Golfers understand! The stain you get when the shoulder touches the face as you swing? No, thank you!). The main downside is that you have to clean very well at night to keep your pores from getting clogged. I use a clay mask twice a week during the summer to take care of that. Koh Gen Do has the best one. Then during the day, you can just carry this mirrored compact in your tote and reapply as necessary! What’s your on-the-go sun care routine? Avene High Protection Tinted Compact SPF 50 available in beige and honey on dermstore.com for $34 each.
