Here’s a pairing that would have likely never happened were Olivier Theyskens still at the helm of Nina Ricci (I so miss him there!). The brand has collaborated with Ladurée for a new scent, La Tentation de Nina. Well, it could have happened with Theyskens, but I feel like it would have resulted in a caviar macaron-inspired perfume or something! The duo behind this new Nina Ricci scent are Olivier Cresp, a well-known nose, and head pastry chef at Ladurée, Vincent Lemains. The limited edition is only available via sephora.fr for 57.50 euros or at Ladurée Champs-Élysées (75 Avenue des Champs Élysées, Paris, 75008).
Unsurprisingly, it’s a sweet summery perfume with notes that include bergamot, grapefruit, raspberry, lemon, Bulgarian rose absolute, bourbon vanilla, white musk, and sandalwood – all as delicious as they sound! I love the balance of sweet with woody note,s and the scent is light. Fittingly, there is also a macaron to go with the new fragrance – a mix of raspberry, lemon, Bulgarian rose, and almond that comes finished with edible gold leaf. Someone take me to Paris…
