NYFW Beauty Recap: Day Eight

Wow, what a way to end Fashion Week…we got inches and inches of snow! But the shows must go on and they did. Here’s a look at some of the standout looks that rounded out NYFW beauty.

NYFW Beauty Recap:

Michael Kors: Arguably the season’s most beautiful updo, this hair look would translate seamlessly from the runway to real life. Orlando Pita used texture paste at the roots of the models’ hair and his namesake dry shampoo all over for volume and texture. He then braided hair at the back of the head, tucked, and pinned it.

Marchesa: One of two looks that the designers showed (the other was an undone, wispy bun), this look was meant to be strong and aggressive according to Mark Hampton who lead the Toni&Guy hair team. He braided the models’ hair into cornrows and then mixed them with loose strands and gathered them into a ponytail – great for the runway, but let’s keep cornrows like this off the street!

Proenza Schouler: As per usual it was a clean and pure look at Proenza. What caught my eye however were the beautifully groomed eyebrows. My prediction (blame the world’s running obsession with Cara Delevingne) is that eyebrows will be a focal point in the months to come.

Ralph Lauren: Rosy cheeks and hair that was full of movement – my dream would be to effortlessly look so beautifully effortless!
