The first month of 2014 welcomes a new style from Bottega Veneta, the likes of which we’ve never seen from the house. While their iconic weave remains neatly in tact, the unusual shape is as fresh as it gets.
This petite box bag is like your own personal (and highly luxurious) filing cabinet. Closed with a smooth slide strap, it’s snappy and concise. Then open it up to reveal accordion-like organization, with the two major compartments expanding fully open so you can see what’s what with no mystery.
I’m not that organized, nor am I trying to become more orderly, so this box isn’t for me, but I can see this thoughtful design being a significant selling point for Type A Snobs. And I do love the structure. Just don’t think intrecciato-topped structure doesn’t come with a price. This crafty top handle slides in at only a couple hundred shy of five grand. Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Woven Bag at Saks Fifth Avenue for $4,750.
Pair with: Keep it ladylike with Lanvin’s classic d’Orsay pump. A monochrome-red combination of smooth goatskin and tonal suede will have you feeling like Hitchock-era femme fatale. At Barneys New York for $895.
