So this might not be totally snobby, but there is something so cool about the vibe of Carmen Secareanu’s bag, I almost can’t resist. The coolness lies in the loose construction and oversized shape. It says, “I can’t be bothered to care,” not about fancy hardware or even fancy design. Just grainy, jet-black leather and an open-front pocket to serve as the sole unique detail. That one touch, perfect for a phone and pen, imbues the bag with a briefcase-like feel. As if you’re productive, with places to go and things to do (even if you’re not!).
The oddly slouchy handle kind of bothers me. It feels a just bit too messy and haphazard to look like it was executed purposefully, but the concept of a giant clutch pouch with a slit handle is appealing. Especially in the midst of the holiday season’s decked-out minaudières and ornately embroidered clutches. Consider this a breath of no-nonsense fresh air. Carmen Secareanu Oversized Clutch on Farfetch for $387.39.
