I’m seeing a pattern here: chunky chains are taking over. While the comfort that comes with Margiela’s shoulder strap is questionable, this cocktail of chain-links, studs, and temptingly tactile leather is not only easy on your hands, it’s as cool as clutches come.
Many designers strike the pose, but Thomas Wylde (designed by Paula Thomas, a former it-Brit model who walked in Alexander McQueen’s first runway collection) reads genuine when it comes to hard-edged, rock ‘n’ roll-influenced luxury. I’m not usually a huge fan of the fold-over clutch, but I’m known to make exceptions when the bag is exceptional. And this is.
A smattering of bullet-reminiscent studs, enough silver to satisfy the snobbiest of metal heads, and leather in a shade of blue that gives your favorite navy a run for its money: this is the midnight stud that you’ve been dreaming of. Just don’t kill the vibe by pairing it with a dainty little cocktail dress; wear it with something as tough as it is feminine. On Farfetch for $2,049.
Pair with: If you want to go casual, stun ‘em with your studs, and give a wink with Current/Elliott’s Zip Stiletto jeans: cropped black denim with a subtle sprinkling of studs at the ankle. On NET-A-PORTER for $290.
Love all the details of this bag, j’adore!
