Sure you can buy L’Oreal products on pretty much every street corner in New York City, but now through December 30th, you can also buy them underground. That’s right…you can buy your eye shadow and foundation when you’re on the go now that L’Oreal has unveiled the first ever “intelligent vending experience” in the Bryant Park subway station. What the hell is that? I wondered too! So I stopped by to check it out. There are attendants there 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends through the middle of the month to help guide you through the process. Basically the vending machine recognizes the colors in your outfit and then recommends products that will match or clash with what you’re wearing. Then, of course, you can then buy any of these products with a quick credit card swipe. It’s a pretty cool setup I have to admit and the prices are in line with what you’d find at local drug stores. The one downside is that the machine is located near the entrance. How much more convenient would this be right by the subway tracks?? I’d love to be shopping for beauty products instead of idly waiting for the always delayed F train…
