The flowers in our gardens may be withering this time of year, but they’re in full bloom on bags! We saw florals all over the Spring 2014 runways, so the time to stock up is now. Save the over-the-top appliqués and embroidery for later, though – the best flowers this season are in print. From abstract watercolors to Baroque blossoms, here are the ones I’m looking to pick for fall….
Sophie Hulme Green Multicolor Leather Floral Envelope Clutch:
The Brit designer seems to have drawn upon an English garden for inspiration, mixing every hue in the rainbow. On Ssense for $780.
Roberto Cavalli Floral Shoulder Bag:
Cavalli takes the opposite approach, removing color and relying on the print to do the talking. He contrasts the romantic petals with a heavy metal chain strap. On Farfetch for $3,321.23.
Alexander McQueen De-Manta Baroque Floral-Print Clutch Bag:
McQueen’s signature dark romanticism is the perfect take on fall flowers. At Neiman Marcus for $525.
Stella McCartney Floral Print Falabella Tote Bag: If you don’t have a Falabella yet, this is the one to buy. It’s more unique than the basic black or snake-embossed you see everywhere, and just as versatile! On Farfetch for $1,445.
Reed Krakoff Atlantique Mini Tote: Watery blue flowers soften this famously structured bag. The versatile color palette will coordinate with anything from black to brights. Pre-order at Neiman Marcus for $1,690.
I’m not usually into florals, but these examples have me reconsidering. My favorite is the Roberto Cavalli black and white floral, very modern and chic!
