It is all about camouflage for Fall ’13, and Prada didn’t have to try too hard to properly jump on the bandwagon. Out of the Marmo capsule collection, two of their signature tote styles make a fine palette for a pallid camo print, one that really hits the spot.
When it comes to a military-themed pattern, army-green motifs can make your bag feel too specific. And when the theme is full-force, it makes me think too much about war. Prada’s subdued gray take, on the other hand, equals a chic interpretation. A big daily tote of lush saffiano leather – whether you choose the twin-pocket silhouette with flared gussets or the more compact double-zip variation – suddenly feels exciting in an unlikely print. And it’s equally versatile. You can carry these with just about anything, but why not go the unexpected route and shake things up with a contrast of bright colors and sculpted ladylike dresses?
Prada Twin-Pocket Tote, $2,200, and Double-Zip Tote, $2,100, both available at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Pair with: Roksanda Illincic’s Tilton dress combines a form-fitting, retro-inspired silhouette with an uplifting pop of neon green. On Net-a-Porter for $1,585.
I have the tote on the left in a gorgeous tan colour. I’m not feeling it for the camo though.
Happy Wednesday Kelly xoxo
