Today marks the debut of L’Occitane La Collection de Grasse ($75 for 75ml + various gift sets available), a new collection of scents inspired by … you guessed it …. the fragrance Mecca Grasse. There’s nothing more inspiring than the South of France so I’m not surprised that the brand’s in-house perfumer found herself inspired enough to create not one but four new fragrances. All of them are fittingly light and not particularly out of the box in terms of their boldness – making the gift sets fantastic housewarming/summer party gifts. The four scents are Vanille & Narcisse, Magnolia & Mure, Jasmine & Bergamote and The Vert & Bigarade (the only unisex), and there are coordinating Body Milks and Shower Gels. I tend to gravitate towards strong, woody scents but in certain situations – job interviews, networking events, a super hot summer day – it’s better to go with something lighter and less obtrusive and all four of these scents fit the bill perfectly. I’m a sucker for jasmine – and woody notes as I mentioned – so Jasmine & Bergamote is my favorite, but it’s impossible to go wrong with any of the scents. Better yet they’re light enough that you could layer them if you wanted to.
