The big launch for Jergens is their new Natural Glow collection, which claims to give you a natural-looking tan minus the smell. I agreed – at first. I was super excited to lather on their Fair to Medium Natural Glow & Protect Daily Moisturizer SPF 20 because like I’ve mentioned before I’m paler than pale at the moment. I like that this is a buildable tan that builds over a few days so you have control over the color. I went to an event for the new collection and rubbed it all over my hands and literally must have exclaimed five times that I couldn’t believe how clean the scent was. About an hour later I got home and rubbed my legs with it. Unfortunately about an hour or two after that the scent changed and started to develop into the self-tanner scent I was used to.
Jergens says they worked to counteract the self-tanner scent by blocking the receptors in the nose that puck up the malodor (sounds a little far-fetched, but I def didn’t smell anything for the first hour or two), as well as by formulating the products with oder-absorbing materials. So while the fact that the scent changed isn’t great, the product itself works well, is super affordable at $8.99, doubles as a moisturizer and as sun protection, and spreads evenly making it without a doubt a good buy as far as self-tanners go.
