According to Pantone orange was the color of the year last year, but since you can’t exactly go out any regular old day in green lipstick (the color of the year this year), I’m all for the orange lips we’ve been seeing on the red carpet. Plus, orange is one of those colors that will never go out of style, but is still nontraditional enough to make a statement. One note of caution however, it’s better to line your lips with a color closer to your natural lip shade than the orange lip shade to avoid being too in-your-face with the color, this will also make blending easier. I’m a sucker for anything Tom Ford, but Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick Spicy Orange is also a nice option. Just remember to keep the rest of the face natural and go with light neutrals or a traditional dark smokey eye or risk bringing back 80s flashbacks!
