This spring tote is oh-so-very pricy, but The Row manages to get away with it. I’m in awe of how the Olsen sisters continue to do it right, down to every last detail. It takes a ridiculously refined eye to elevate a classic and casual tote into something worth fawning over, but let’s face it: the girls have it in spades.
This simple tote has been transformed with expertly executed colorblocking from front to back, in two neutral shades of grained calfskin, and contrasting straps in lizard of juicy yellow. (Let the toggle-style closure dangle open on carefree weekend days.) Their pared-down palladium hardware is striking in its simplicity, so sparse it catches the eye. It seems like there’s nothing to it, but that’s the magic: remaining uncomplicated is so much harder to do. Available for pre-order at Bergdorf Goodman for $3,900 (expect delivery by May 7th).
Pair with: Go for nonchalantly polished with Rag & Bone’s lace-free white brogues, for a dash of menswear-inspired prep in your step. At Barneys New York for $495.
Seriously, $3900.00 for this bag? Not a chance….
