As a non-believer in New Year’s resolutions, I usually am a fan of smaller and more realistic goals. Apart from a goal of working out in the morning, and eating more fish, I decided it was time to update and upgrade my skin care regimen to a more mature level. My goal was to create a plan that was more tailored and mature than a simple cleansing and moisturizing ritual that I have been using.
The first step in my skin revolution was the incorporation of a new cleanser. Upon the recommendation I started using Caudalie’s Fleur de Vigne Foaming Cleanser
While I’m currently growing a beard, I did need to revamp my shave routine. What I was currently doing wasn’t cutting it. I started using Billy Jealousy’s Hot Towel Pre-Shave Treatment ($30), a water-activated treatment which makes your shave just that much more enjoyable. I also used Billy Jealousy’s Super-Slick Shave Cream ($20), which, truthfully, gave me the smoothest shave I’ve ever had. Maybe I should start shaving again?
The day-time moisturizing portion of my new skincare resolution was the part that I thought about more carefully. I didn’t want to use a ton of products, and wanted to keep it simple. But with an oily forehead, and the rest of my face choosing to forego oil production, it was a challenge. At that point, I decided to try Billy Jealousy’s (I really am a fan of this line!) Combat Lines Face Moisturizer, for the drier portion of my face. Most importantly, it contains dual-spectrum (UVA/UVB) SPF 30 sunscreen. To attack the oily portion of my face, I started using Kyoku for Men’s Oil Control Lotion (On Kyoku for Men for $13) , and voila, no more oil.
Ultimately, my skin has never looked or felt better, and I’ve never had a more mature regimen in my life. I’ve had absolutely no blemishes lately. Now, if only working out was this easy. All Billy Jealousy products available on Billy Jealousy.
