Delpozo, the Spanish label founded by Jesús del Pozo in 1974, has produced a stunning Fall ’13 collection This is couture in the sense that each detail of each garment requires an expert pair of hands. With silhouettes soft and sensual, no straight lines, the skirts fan out with billowing pleats and the hems end in the most insanely intricate, architectural manner. These are 3D modules boasting perfect seams, the likes of which you’ve never seen.
The gorgeously amazing space at Canoe Studios was filled with natural light; the walls are nothing but windows, and it was the perfect utilization of space for creating this wonderland of romance. They might not be interested in straight lines, but the Spanish are definitely not afraid to use color! Dollops of kelly green, canary yellow, carnation pink, and poppy red are such a joy to see. They breathed even more life into the high-waisted dresses and springy miniskirts. Even more enlivening, the appliqués, beading, and embroidery work – and all of it is masterful. The Delpozo woman is fully formed, but she’s not overly seasoned. The final touches said it all: the models’ hair was loosely pulled back, into a softly braided and twisted bun, revealing fresh, dewy faces flushed with innocence.
Breathtaking! Thank you for sharing 🙂
