Christian Louboutin scores high-impact points with the Panettone satchel. This curvy, domed shape is amazing, and he has updated it with standout hardware: a retro style brought to new life with current studs (yes, studs are still going strong and won’t be going anywhere soon).
I usually love the option of a shoulder strap, but in this case, it doesn’t work for me. Luckily, it’s removable: this shape requires a hand-held approach so it can be shown off. Even in the smaller style, it’s too big and bulky to hang sensibly at your side. Two completely different variations make for extra excitement: the large stone version ($2,495) wears its studs along the top and gusset, for a subtler effect. But it makes sense for the petite black Panettone ($2,195) to get the full treatment: totally rocked out with allover studs, it’s undeniably punk. I prefer the stone: it’s ladylike with some edge, and like Valentino’s rockstud creations, this surprisingly harmonious balance works. Available at Neiman Marcus (black available for pre-order; expect delivery by April 19th).
Pair with: Take it easy – and vivid – with Just Cavalli’s satin shorts. A wild tropical pattern relaxes a bold satchel. On Net-a-Porter for $310.
