I know it’s counter-intuitive, but one of the worst things you can do if you have dry skin and are flying is to mist your face with a hydrating spray while in-flight. Dry air doesn’t hold on to moisture well so when the air is dry – as it always in, in airplanes – your skin will basically get so excited to have moisture from the mist that it will suck it all right out! It’s totally one of those feels good, but does more harm than good kind of things. As an alternative for my New Year travel I’m packing a high-impact moisturizer like Dermalogica’s Super Rich Repair, which is more easily absorbed by the skin. Post flight however there’s nothing I like more than a refreshing mist. I’ve been using Dermalogica’s Antioxidant Hydramist throughout the day – especially post yoga – and it has worked wonders. There’s nothing worse than the feeling of dry skin, especially when flacks are involved (flaky skin + liquid foundation = disaster). I’ve been working on over-drive to keep my skin hydrated given the lack of moisture in the air and this is definitly going to become a go-to product till April. As a bonus the mist is formulated to also help reduce the appearance of fine lines.
