Rubinov told me that with slicked back hair it varies depending on your hair texture. “Medium to fine textures,” he says “requires shampooing your hair twice then conditioning it; then use a blow dryer and a paddle brush to dry your hair. Brush against your growth pattern pushing the paddle brush all the way to the back of your head. After the drying is complete take a quarter size of some pomade (he recommends American Crew Pomade), and massage both of your hands together until the product is well spread out on your hands. Then, using your finger tips, brush your hair threw and use some hairspray to hold it in (he recommends Tresemme’s Hairspray).” If however your hair is thick, Rubinov says you need to use hair gel instead of the pomade and to that end he recommends Garnier’s Medium-Strong Hold Gel.
